Staff Qualifications
Each staff member is a fully-qualified teacher by DCFS standards. All have had experiences working with groups of children and meet or exceed the education requirements set by the state.
Staff members understand children's behavior as caused and purposeful; they understand the stages of pre-operational and concrete thinking of young children; they are dedicated to providing environments which are rich in exploratory activities. Above all, staff members respect, value, and care for children as unique individuals.
Staff members expand their knowledge of child development through in-service classes at WCC, college course work, professional workshops, lectures, and conferences. They participate in organizations such as the DuPage Association for the Education of Young Children, the Chicago Metropolitan Association for the Education of Young Children, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the National School Age Care Alliance, and the Illinois School Age Child Care Network.
