Our Mission
Weekday Children's Center is housed in and sponsored by Grace United Methodist Church as a part of their outreach ministry to care for, support and nurture the children in their church family and the surrounding community. Weekday Children's Center is open to children of any race, color, national and ethnic origin and all income levels who need reliable care, safe and healthy environments, enriched educational programs, and services to support their physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual development. Weekday Children's Center affirms that high quality programs for children support the child, the family, and society as a whole.
Weekday Children's Center is a licensed center which provides a variety of early childhood education and child care programs to meet the varied needs of children and families. Weekday Children's Center provides children with a secure, stimulating environment in which each child can grow and learn through play. The children are given opportunities to create, invent, investigate, explore, and to make choices. Children are helped to be respectful of themselves, of others, and of the surrounding environment. Weekday Children's Center shares a faith connection with Grace United Methodist Church by emphasizing fundamental values such as love, forgiveness, trust, honesty in human relationships, reverence for nature and all living things, and understanding the difference between right and wrong. This faith connection acknowledges an awareness of a power beyond humankind itself through the richness of faith stories, deeds and practices.
The Center celebrates the great diversity of children and families, helps children and families value that diversity, and provides opportunities to learn about and share traditions, beliefs, and stories. The Center cares for each child and family as unique and special, helping them to value and care for each other. Each child is worthy of love, acceptance, and the support that helps to build a good self-image.
